Christmas Day 2008

This is Josh going down the hill in Scott's backyard. The Christmas Eve party at Scott's was alot of fun. Scott let the kids sled down his hill and they had a great time.

Vanessa got her 4 slot toaster that she has been wanting, from her mom.

Amanda showed more interest in the nerf football than the boys. Unfortunatly.

Josh, received a remote control truck which he really likes and a bike, all the kids received bikes from Santa.

Austin, received some Wii games. He had a great Christmas as we all did.

To increase the suspense on Christmas morning we put wrapping paper up that they have to break through to get to the presents that Santa brought. This is an idea my sister Heidi had and used when her kids were young. The kids really enjoy it.

Melissa received some Barbi things.

Christmas was great for us. The kids were very excited. The kids were able to go out for a while and ride their new bikes. Santa gave Austin a Wii baseball game that I am having some fun with. It was a great day for us. We hope everyone else had a great Christmas.

I can't believe it has been a year since Amanda was born. It was a pretty stressful day. We had to drive to the hospital in a snow storm and the roads were pretty bad. Right after she was born I got stuck in the employee elevator at the new hospital which I don't recommend if you are claustraphobic. It has been a good year and a difficult year. Someone told me that having 3 kids is the same as having 4 because you are over your head with 3 one more does not make it any more difficult. This statement is not accurate. Having 3 kids is like treading water and having 4 kids is like treading water with someone standing on your head pushing you under.

The pictures have been taken off after looking at then for so long they served as a demotivator instead of a motivator.

Hopefully the "after" pics will be more flattering!!! I really am excited, though!! Another incentive we have is our company-paid trip to Florida next fall (Matt's 10 yr anniversary) and I WILL be in shape for that!

Now that there will be no more pregnancies to contend with ,(yeah, we're 99.9% certain our family is complete) there's hope that I will achieve my goal.....Again!.....for the 100th time!!! ha ha I know that if I'm the winner, a good chunk of that $1k is going toward a new wardrobe!!

Of course, I'm also rooting for my hubby though I am competing with him. We just want to be healthy and have the energy to keep up with our chandelier-swinging children. We're grateful for every day we have, fat or not!!

Bop's fatman contest

Vanessa and I have decided to start our own version of The Biggest Loser. The contest will start today November 23rd 2008. (Yeah, I know. Aren't we picking a great time to start?-v) We will go off of percentage of body fat lost, since I have more pounds to lose than she does. (But who's had the kids?) This is not our first attempt to lose weight but this time we do have an incentive::

The one that loses the biggest percentage of body fat by June 1st 2008 will be the winner. There will be a prize given out for biggest percentage lost by March 1st 2008. The prize for that will be $250 to spend as he/she wishes. We will have weigh-ins to humiliate and check on the status of weight loss each month. The overall winner will get $1000 to do whatever!!!!!

Some rules of engagement: 1. No using fattening and enticing food as a weapon, such as putting a Snickers bar under someone's pillow hoping they will snort down the said Snickers bar and gain weight. Any behavior of this nature will add 2 pounds to your body fat percentage.

2.You must show up to the weigh-in. There will be one each month on the first day of the month.

3.The important thing is to make progress. It is not who wins or loses, but that you make progress along the way.

OK.....here we go!! May the skinniest one win!!!!

The kids had a great time on Halloween. They had the day off of school so they stayed home with their mom and watched Halloween movies. They were very anxious to go out trick or treating. They came back with a huge amount of candy and most of it was gone the next day. Austin was a skelton, Melissa was a pricess like she usually is, Josh was a Fireman and Amanda was a Kitten. The day was a great deal of fun for the kids.
